Yellow Hibiscus
Flowers

Available

A bright and pretty yellow hibiscus flower, reminders of spring and summer time to all

The territory of Hawaii named the hibiscus the official flower of Hawaii in 1923, but it did not specify an individual variety. A number of Hawaiian citizens considered the native red or Chinese red hibiscus the official flower until Hawaii’s Legislature declared the yellow hibiscus the state flower in 1988.

Although yellow hibiscus is categorized as a shrub, it can grow up to 30 feet tall. Its large yellow flowers typically open between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and close again between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sphinx moths visit open flowers until about noon each day.
