This fruit, known as loquat in English or nispero in Spanish, has soft orange flesh and usually three to five almond-sized seeds. It is native to Asia, but grows in Mexico and the Southern United States as well as Central and South America.

Loquat fruits, growing in clusters, are oval, rounded or pear-shaped, 1 to 2 inches long with a smooth or downy, yellow or orange, sometimes red-blushed skin. The succulent, tangy flesh is white, yellow or orange and sweet to subacid or acid, depending on the cultivar.

Flowers
Here is a selection of flowers from around the world through the lens.
